In 2000, Taki Betsakos decided to open Meze Emporio, a deli in Senderwood. Customers coming to the deli from near and far, wanted to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee with Taki, so he added a couple of chairs and tables outside the deli. Then, he started making Greek foods to satisfy the customer’s need for a traditional meal. He provided a great meal together with entertainment, with his witty sense of humour and stories from his past. With the support of our customers, and the addition of his late wife Kathy’s traditional Greek recipes, the need for customers to sit and have a meal increased so much, that in 2010, Taki decided to expand. He moved the deli into the shop next door, and the old deli section officially became the restaurant.

The Mezetaki brand has gained popularity for its authenticity and consistency. We specialise in authentic traditional homemade Greek foods and we try to appetize the pallet of everyone who visits us.

On traditional Greek celebratory days, we aim to cater for the needs of the community. We believe that traditions and values should be kept alive, through our customers, and through us, so that they are passed on to our younger generations.

Our menu has improved and grown in authenticity and tradition, as we have grown to love our customers.
